why is the book of revelations always interpreted as prophecy?

when it is always written in the past tense?? this confuses me quite a bit
you can "reveal" the past as well...they stick in the future part...it doesnt make sense to me...i try to be a christian, and i am open to all beliefs that coincide, like buddhism, anything with the golden rule

im not looking for angry responses, what i mean is im not trying to incite anger..

i just want to know where it says that is IS prophecy, and where they speak in the future tense
 
It is not all written past tense, and it's not Chronological.
And, for the most part it IS PROPHECY.
 
It's also very similar in content to the Harry Potter books!
 
Revelation is strictly tribulation prophecy. It has not happened yet. But it will, make no mistake.
