Why is Verizon the only phone company that doesn't have candy-bar style phones...

well i'm sure if pretty much every phone company is coming out with one, they will eventually too or just come out with something better.
 
...that AREN'T pda/Tsmartphones? Every other phone company either has or is coming out with a candy-bar style phone that does NOT require a data plan of any kind but can do just about everything that those phones do (Blackberry, HTC Ozone, etc.) Verizon usually has some pretty cool phones but lately have not been coming out with any worthwhile!
 
How about the LG glance, or Samsung Trance? Also env touch and env3 do not require data plans. They're pretty candy-bar like.
