why isnt motorola phone tools letting me put songs inside my razr?

i have the motorola phone tools, but when i go to the multimedia studios and try to transfer the song to my phone it says that it is "unsupported format-no conversation possible." what does this mean? and how can i fix it?

i just use my phone's internet

This has never happened to me, but I think that the song is in an unsupported format.

I know that MP3 files are supported, so try converting the song into MP3 format and then transfer it.
