Why isn't my 2wire 2701HG-B router opening my bittorrent ports?

Ok so I went to my routers fire wall settings
added BitTorrent
under the applications to allow and used a port range of 6881 to 6999
however when I open bittorrent and put Any port between those numbers and check to see I the Portia open it
redirects me to a utorrent port checker an it says my port is not open and to try portforward
I've already tried port forward And there is still no tutorial for my router and bittorrent application
the only option it give me when I select bittorrent is to download pfconfigure
but it cost $30
help? Anyone?

Did you add the torrent program under 'hosted applications'?
I have a 2 wire gateway 3800HGV-B and with mine I added the ports and the programs, but under 'settings>firewall>applications' I had to scroll through a list of programs and manually add the program to a list of 'hosted applications' have the port recognized.
