Why isn't my Nokia N80 connecting to my computer?

I have a Nokia N8800 i think, I have the appropriate cable connecting it to my computer, I have a laptop, Dell running on windows vista. I have also downloaded Nokia PC Suite, latest version and when I click the 'phone' icon to find a connected phone, it just tells me to make sure my cable is properly connected and never finds the phone. PLEASE HELP.
 
Make sure the phone is set to Nokia mode or USB mode. I think you go to settings, connections, and it's somewhere in there.
