Why isn't Soulseek working anymore?

I've had soulseek for ages, updated it about 6 months ago and everything worked fine. I didn't use it for a while as I moved but now when I try and download anything it just says 'initialising' and REALLY slows my PC down. Eventually it 'fails'.

I've tried un and re installing it and I've tried an older version but still. . . nothing. Any ideas?
I haven't added anything like anti-virus software. I don't think I've added any programmes since last using to be honest.
 
Did you installed anything that might have a conflict with the program? such antivirus or firewall? data transfer could be the problem since you have moved
