Why was Abraham Lincoln so hated?

I asked a question about the worst/most hated President and everyone said Abe was hated even worse than George W. Bush is hated. They said Abe had even lower approval ratings than George does.

Why would so many hate Abe Lincoln?
 
Please excuse me if I'm horribly wrong, as I probably will be, but isn't it because he freed the slaves?
 
Actually everyone liked him. He was the most generous president and he wasnt homosexual. He loved his wife and kids so much. Thats just a rumor. People didnt like him because he didnt approve of slavery and most people were for slavery.

Plus, don't forget a war that brothers shot brothers. From every family, at least a son was dead.
 
Everyone liked slavery in his time. and he took it away from the southerners.
 
Abe is one of the most beloved American Presidents of all time.

That being said, during his time in office the country was at its most turbulant and divided in its short history.
