Why was Neji's Swastika In Naruto switched to an "x"?

I know what the original meaning of the Swastika and that it ment peace in Buddhist religion, India, Africa and even symbols in Native America have been found. I've read about it a few years ago. So my question is why did the maker of Naruto change the symbol from a Swastika to an "X" on the show but left it the same in the manga? Personally I thought it should stay the same sense the symbol was going by it's original meaning but I have no clue why the maker changed it in the show

Because most people aren't knowledgeable enough to realize what Neji's symbol actually was. They would think "omg wtf swastika nazi" so the producers decided to edit it..
