Why were 60s band very interested in Indian culture?
For example, The Beatles trip to India inspired them to add the sitar to their music who then influenced Rolling Stones to do the same with "Paint it black". Also, The Who and their song in tribute to Meher Baba a spiritual guru. In addition, Ravi Shankar played at Woodstock.. So I just want to know how did this come about?
