Why weren't the "Alien" movies as disturbing to me as a kid as they are now?

Back then it was all action. Sigourney Weaver kicking some Xenomorph a$$! I recently bought the first four movies on a Blu Ray combo pack, and it wasn't at all like that now. The recent Alien vs Predator movies are all about action, but the first three, especially the second, are some pretty twisted movies. These creatures aren't just trying to kill us; they want to fvck us then kill us. The look that the one in "Aliens" gives Ripley while salivating and lusting after her is nightmarish! They're still great movies, but they're not the same as they were before to me.

BTW, I've yet to see Prometheus, but I've been hearing good things.
 
because you grew up like everyone else. I don't find them scary as I used to but their still fantastic. I hated Prometheus a lot.... but me hating something doesn't mean it sucks. just an opinion. I didn't just hate that movie I loathed it. I despise it. it shouldn't exist!!!!!
