Why when I hear good music and feeling good. I think of my childhood?

where we would have cook outs and parties everybody(enjoying the fun) laughing and dancing. When that type of music comes on the radio and I home. I wonder why do I think about my father I never knew and try to picture him at the (my) parties, block parties and other family festivals. But I cant quite get the picture right. It's like a picture Im trying to force myself to see and cant. Why is that?
