why when i try to play ufc undisputed online it never works?

okay so i just got UFC Undisputed used today. i tried playing it online but it wont work. so i got it to where you pick your players in ranked matched but after you click ready it says connection error or something but the thing is my connection is 100%. so it is making me mad. i use the wifi on the ps3 and i use my wireless router. oh then after it says the connection error the screen will just turn black and i have to click the middle butten to quit. then i have to replay. but i never got a chance to play online yet and want to so badly. please help if you could. i got it from gamestop.
