I have a Tracfone (LG420) and purchased several ringtones from their website. They downloaded to my phone with no problem and play perfectly. I wanted different ringtones for particular numbers/callers. In my contact list I have assigned different ringtones to different numbers. However, when someone calls, I do not hear the ringtone I have assigned to that number. Instead, I only get one ringtone - the one I have assigned as my overall ringtone. I did assign a different ringtone as my message ringtone and it plays fine. I am given the option to assign separate ringtones to different callers so I do not understand why those assigned ringtones do not play. I wanted this option so I'd know who was calling (work, boss, best friend, family, etc.) before I even answered the phone. My boss does this and she loves it. I could see the advantages. I called Tracfone tech support and they were horrible. They were absolutely no help at all and I could not even get the girl I was dealing with to understand my problem. She just kept reading from a script and it was obvious she had no idea what she was doing. I remained calm, though, and finally asked if I could speak to someone else (I believe there was a language/accent barrier if you catch my meaning) and she refused. Believe it or not, I still remained calm. So, words of advice - don't bother calling Tracfone tech support which must be located who-knows-where! All they want to do is send you a new phone (with no guarantee, I learned). Horrible customer service!! The rest of my phone works fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong when entering the individual assigned ringtones? Or, is there some way I should program my phone to allow the individual assigned ringtones to work? Or, do I simply have a phone that is not working correctly?
