Why Won't My Bittorrent Work?

For some reason my torrents aren't working in transmission. What happens is that I save the file of what i want and it saves as .torrent and when I open it in Transmission it displays everthing in the package normally, but as soon as i want this to be extracted it stays "IDLE" and says connecting to 0 out of 0 peers. It does this with every Torrent i want to extract. I run UBUNTU 12.04. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

your isp might be blocking it try to run bittorrent though a proxy and if its a copyrighted thing then just dont isps have turned in to attacks for hollywood you'll get a letter in your mail and you'll have to go though a bunch a crap
