Why won't my Broadcom bluetooth dongle/mad catz headset work?

I need help with two products I purchased and making them work properly.
First off I bought a mad catz bluetooth headset for the PS3. Link: http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-3-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B000NA251O.
Now it works great for my ps3 but I also wanted to use my headset on my PC as well. So I bought a Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1 USB UHE Dongle. When I first sync'd them my headset worked could hear and record audio. But when I turn off the headset or my computer it stops working on occasion and I can't hear audio from it anymore yet it still records audio just fine. Have tried unpairing/repairing, and turning off my computer doesn't seem to work. What could be wrong? How can I get both hearing and recording audio to work? Any ideas or links to similar solved issues would be appreciated.

FYI dongle drivers working just fine. Have regular audio drivers installed.
