Why won't my car start?

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer ZR2, and it will not start. The engine is trying to start, but its like there is no spark. I know the battery is good because all of the electrical parts work. Also, you can hear the fuel pump starting. Also I have a full tank of fuel, so that's not the problem. My dad said that it sounds like the engine is wet, and it did rain really, really hard last night. But this has never happened before and it did the same thing even when it had time to dry out. Please help!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!!
Also, the engine will backfire and it will smell like fuel.

pull a spark plug out and have someone try and start the car and see if you really are getting a spark, then the fuel, you might have a clogged fuel filter or old gas. Also try starting it with the mass air flow sensor unplugged and see if that makes a difference. The engine should never get water in it everything is water tight for the most part.

there might be water in ur exhaust pipe, also could be ur alternator, which is wut starts the spark from the battery and recharges the battery while driving. and just bc all ur electrical parts work, doesn't mean ur battery is good, ur electrical takes a lot less energy than ur motor.

Get some WD 40 and spray that over all the electrics it will drive out any moisture, even in side a distributor cap on the older cars. don't worry about WD 40 being wet that is OK.

When the engine is backfiring and smell of fuel, hold the accelerator to the floor as you have flooded the engine, don,t let it up keep turning the engine that will clear the fuel and it should start, if it doesn't the other reason for backfiring is the timing is out but in your case unlikely as it was OK before the rain.

you could have water in the coilpacks,or there could be moisture on the plugs.Check your spark plug wires too.My Toyota did it after it rained really hard, and I just kept cranking it while holding the gas down and it started. That was the first time it ever happened to me too.Try sparying some starting fluid in the intake tube, then put the tube back on and try starting it.That stuff might dry it out just enough to spark.

when did you last tune it up ? Could be wet wires or a distributor. Needs to dry out good first. Check for condensation in the engine compartment. All dry ? next is a check of the computers and relays which a shop will have to do. American cars have a history of relays that fail on a regular basis. Buy Toyota next time and you wont regret it.
