Why won't my divx player play videos?

I seem to have trouble playing computer files like mpeg and mpeg2 files along with Avi, Divx, and Xvid files on my Phillips Divx player. They used to play fine before. DVDs play just fine. I was wondering if there were any updates that Divx players require. Anyone?

i dont think there are any updates im sorry try asking the store you got it from of call the product helpline it should be on the box or look it up online
