I have a '97 GMC Sonoma. I usually had to give it a jumpstart, so I bought a brand new Interstate Battery. A few weeks later, I try starting it and it's literally dead. I jump start it every day for about an hour just to get me around for the day.

What's causing it not to start? My father says it could be the alternator? And if it is, how much would one cost me?

Thanks in advance.

sounds like a charging problem to me. Take your truck to auto zone or advanced auto parts and they will check the alternator for free. the should run around $125 after a core return

sounds like the alternator as well theres a way to see as well go to autozone or advanced autoparts and they will check it for free to see if it is good weather it is on the car or not. Also you can take off one of your battery post and if your car shuts down then its your alternator and trying, cause your car is running off of your battery. The part how much various by your make and model something else you can check out at autozone or advanced.
