why wont phone calls ring on skype?

I have used skype now for some time. and i found out i could turn off the incoming call sound because it was getting to be a little annoying. but now I went and got the updated version. i rechecked the warnings so that incoming calls would sound but they don't. as far as i can tell everything is how its supposed to be....any ideas what i can do to fix this problem (i also tried reinstalling and that did not work)
lol yes my volume is up
