Why won't the bluetooth work on my new Kenwood system?

Just bought a kdc-bt945u Kenwood system with Ipod USB connect, neither the Ipod sync nor the Bluetooth works. Radio plays fine. Whats up? I have an Iphone 3GS which the box says is compatible. HELP!!!
The manual states that it takes the new Iphone 3GS, and that it is bluetooth capabable...heck it even came with the microphone and the port saying plug mic here. Ugh...this is the second deck in 2 days, the last one was an Alpine and it wouldn't work either.
 
It's odd that neither of them work. Double check the box and instruction manuals, make sure it's approved for the 3GS. The new iPods are not compatible with most stereos that play older models perfectly fine. As for the bluetooth, If it doesn't work it all, it could mean the deck is a POS and you need a new one. Or it could mean that its Bluetooth Ready and you need a separate piece to enjoy the full experience
