Why would an omnipotent being care if I believe in it or not?

Before anyone writes "He doesn't, it's you that should want to believe!", think of this: I'm living my life well, I am perfectly content with where my life is and where it's going. I do not feel the need whatsoever to believe in God to improve the quality of my life. In fact, I know exactly what that is like (was raised Christian) and can say without any doubts that my life is better without the belief in a God.

Now, in most religions (minus Buddhism), there is a God/Allah/etc. that wants me to believe in him, and threatens eternal torment if I don't. To add on to this, he even tries to bribe me into doing so by offering an eternal paradise if I do believe in him.

My question is, why? Why does God feel the need that I should believe in him, does me doing so validate his existence or his work?

a) hell isn't punishment it;s just earth minus gods glory and b) view things his way, if you had a son who rejected you and every gift you gave him his entire life would you leave him your inheritance? or would you let him fend for himself?
