will a guinea pig keep mice away?

i have a guinea pig but it is currently at my parents. since he has been there we have been having a mice problem in the house. if we bring him back will it keep the mice away?

We had mice problems all year, tried everything, nothing worked but they largely disappeared when I got 2 guinea pigs.
