...amperage destroy it? I have a DVR recorder used for CCTV cameras. It's brand is Rover Systems (a small one 4CH) and it uses SATA hard disk drive.
The DVR power rating is 12V DC 3.5A. While connecting I accidentally used a power supply of 12V DC 1.5A for around 30 seconds. The DVR seems to be working fine.
FYI, The wrong power supply was smaller compared to the power supply of the DVR, which is bigger and wires are thicker.
Will using this wrong low amperage power supply for 30 seconds possibly destroy some components of the DVR?
