Will an S-Video cable plugged into a S-VHS input work?

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my tv. I have an S-Video output on computer but only an S-VHS, component video, and normal "yellow, red, white" AV inputs on tv. I do have a VGA output on laptop but all the VGA to RCA cables I found online said they wouldn't work with computers. Any suggestions?
