Will Apple?*Sell Me an Unlocked iPhone 3G?

I've heard that they will, but I'm not so sure... And then if you have an unlocked iPhone, then you can take it too any service provider besides Nextel, and they will provide service for the Phone... Right?

So Basically I'm asking if apple will sell me an Unlocked iPhone 3G.

Apple will only do that in Europe and even then I think n unlocked phone doesn't come directly from them. I have a question though...How did you get the apple symbol in your question?
