Will Blu-Ray still look good on my 1080i HDTV?

I have a Philips projection screen (not sure about the size I'd say diaganol the screen is about 45") with a max output of 1080i and an HDMI capable reciever.

At Circuit City one time I saw a Blu Ray playing on a 1080p TV and it looked amazing and I was wondering if I would notice a significant decrease in quality if I played them on my PS3 on a 1080i?
