Circumcision trend in the U.S.?
What do you think will happen with circ rates in the U.S. in future. Will the trend of decreasing continue?

i agree with lottie... my little boy is not circ'ed. couldnt imagine chopping him up at one day old. not only is it a completely unnecessary procedure, but it is barbaric and inhumane. its done purely for cosmetic purposes these days... disgusting... keep your boys the way they were made!!

I sure hope so! Americans are finally realizing how barbaric and unnecessary this practice is and eventually it will become just a horrible memory. I truly feel sorry for infants with parents like Pamela W. who think a part of the precious life they are carrying is so disgusting and offensive it must be immediately surgically excised at birth. I suppose there are still some elderly Chinese individuals who think un-bound ladies feet are disgusting. And by the way, she's completely wrong about her statement that most intact men opt for circumcisions as adults. That's actually rarely the case. There's also a growing number of men who resent the fact their choice was taken away from them and have opted for non-surgical restoration.

All of you have obviously not seen man who wasn't circumsised...its gross. The extra skin there holds some much bacteria. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and WILL be circumsising my little one b/c most men when they get older choose to have the procedure done and its much more dangerous and painful to do it when they are older.

Probably. The more you educate people on things, the more popular opinion changes. The same thing has happened with issues like breastfeeding, putting babies to sleep on their backs, etc.
My son had a kidney problem in utero, which could have caused some serious problems if he wasn't circumcised. That's the only reason we chose that for him. Had his kidneys been fine, we would have opted not to get it done, and then allowed him to make the decision when he was old enough to understand what it was and why people had it done.
