Will GM and Chrysler have to close down some of their plants?

They might as well. I am tired of these big companies needing bailout money. It's the law of physics what goes up must come down. A Balloon don't just keep getting bigger and bigger, eventually its going to POP! You just can't keep flying a kite higher and higher, if you want your kite back, you will have to bring it back down. CEO's want bigger and bigger salaries and bonuses, eventually the money is going to top out same day.
 
Why don't the CEOs give THEIR money to the business so people can keep their jobs? So when the economy gets back on track, people can buy cars? Lee Iacoca (former Chrysler CEO) said when he asked for a bailout almost 30 years ago that he would lower his salary to $1 so he could save these peoples jobs. When congress asked the same from the big three, they said "hell no". GM should close their plants? I bet you have a cushy job you don't have to worry about losing. Have fun paying for me till I find a manufacturing job as well as all those that you want out of work from the car manufacturing plants. You want change, you got it. Enjoy!
 
On the radio today they said 47,000 lay offs at GM. This is serious ****

People that say American cars are POS havent looked at any lately. The cars they are building are good cars. Dont judge GM by the 1980's
 
i hope they fail and go under. they should have to liquidate the rest of the crap they have and give the money back
 
gm will shut down 5 plants by december . the probably would have stayed working if they where not UNION
 
They are using billions of tax payers dollars every month to make payroll and undersell GAS GUZZLING POS vehicles
 
GM is done. Chrysler too. GM will probably beat Chrysler to the poor house. GM got caught with their pants down at the end of the 70's, but by the end of the 80's, they were able to get back in the race. They had the 90's to make strides with quality and design, and instead they cut corners, designed crap, and drove more loyal customers away to foreign makes. When the SUV boom started, they were right there making trucks and getting paid, but 20 years later, that's all they know how to do. Toyota and Nissan are bringing hybrids and electric cars to market GM, Ford and Chrysler are asking congress for lower fuel efficiency standards. The American auto industry wasted too much time maintaining the status quo, and not being innovative. It's too late now. The american auto industry has already hit the iceberg. Now it's all about how long it will take for the industry to sink.
