Will I be charged for texting in the US if i have telus unlimited messaging?

I am going to Washing DC in the summer and I was just wondering if my unlimited messaging will still work, or if if will still be free?

Unlimited messaging is just that, no matter where in the US you are.

TELUS customers can text to the US from Canada for free. If a TELUS customer texts while IN the US then you will pay a 'roaming fee" of 45 cents per text sent or received. Those who don't have a text plan will pay 60 cents per text sent or received.
I think the other responses given were from American's who didn't realize that TELUS is a Canadian carrier.
