I have to go in and have my 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed and I am scared out of my mind. My fiance says I will be just fine but it still doesn't help. All I know is I will be getting a needle in my arm. I hope that means I will be asleep. But will I get laughing gas too? Will I remember anything? And will I start babbling about my personal life?

And also I have a tongue ring and I am afraid I will be too swollen to put it back in. How long before a tongue piercing closes? (the oral surgeon said they won't pull my wisdom teeth with it in) I am afraid my mouth will not open far enough to put it back in.

I had my wisdom teeth removed about a month and a half ago all 4 and I'm 29. You will get laughing gas, but getting sedated is optional and will cost you a bit more and yes this is the needle in your arm. Laughing gas is there to relax your nerves, but it doesn't really make you laugh (some people yes). The sedation will put you to sleep, you won't even remember going to sleep.

I didn't blab about the good looking assistant or anything personal about me or my wife, which I was worried about. I did wake up a few times in between the surgery and felt a bit of pain as they were pulling out the tooth, but then went back to sleep.

The hardest part isn't the surgery, that is a breeze if you go to sleep. The hard part is taking care of your mouth after the surgery and keeping gauze in there to stop the bleeding and keeping up with the medication. Overall, it's not too bad, so I wouldn't worry so much about it. If you go to sleep then it's not bad, if you don't then you will feel some of the pain as they pull them out.

I think the worst thing about having had my wisdom teeth removed is now every time I eat food gets stuck in the sockets, I didn't think about this then but it is a real pain having to wash your mouth all the time to get the food that's stuck out of there.

Wisdom teeth removal is pretty much surgery. You will have something that will make you go to sleep during it.
