are kinda small? I like the great gas mileage they get, but I can never tell if I look funny on them? When I took the motorcycle class, that is what we used and the cruiser I was on was comfortable. Now I'm in the market for my first bike and I mostly want to use it for my relatively short commute and around town stuff that doesn't require a car. I just can't tell if I look funny on it because they are smaller bikes?
Oh yeah, I'm about 200 lbs, 5' 11' and I lift...alot.

When I got into motorcycling, back in the 60s, 250 was the standard size for motorcycles. A -big- motorcycle was a Triumph Bonneville 650. I used to read in articles in motorcycle magazines that there was really no reason for a bike to be bigger than 250. Of course this was in a day when there weren't so many freeways so most traveling was done on smaller roads going 50-60 mph. A 250 was fine for that.

I would say if you don't need to go fast for a long time, a 250 is all you need. Why would you get something bigger, more expensive, harder to handle, and perhaps more dangerous, just for the look? Nobody is looking at you and saying "Wow, look at that big fat dude on that little tiny motorcycle!"
