Will Japanese games work on my Australian Dsi?

Lately Pokemon Black and White have came out and I really want them! I can't wait for the English versions to come out, so im thinking of buying the Japanese versions. Please answer A.S.A.P.
If Pokemone black and white don't work on an Australian Dsi, would they work on an Australian DS?
Please answer :)?
