Hey,
My friend has danced all his life and is absolutely incredible at dancing like the king of pop, michael jackson. He can dance spot on and I and my other friends think he's fantastic. The only problem is, he has NO confidence going on stage what so ever. We're in 6th form at the moment and he's been offered to dance at the children in need show for this year. He's been told that he can base his performance on how he wants it to be as they're going to have lazer/strobe lights, smoke and pyrotechnics this year.

He's 18, and is very worried that he'll get bullied/teased in school for performing. He's done it in the past and got standing ovations and ginormous round of applause. What can I tell him to persuade him going on stage? And do you think his worst nightmare will even come true? He really is one of a kind. he can also sing too, but he will not perform this either. Help?

Well, you can tell him that since MJ was famous for doing his moves, your friend will be famous for doing the same moves too! xD
It is a great privelege to be dancing for children in need, and it can be put into a college application as community service. Maybe that might persuade your friend. Also, I think that dancing like MJ is cool when it's done well. There is no reason to laugh at somebody who is that good, unless you are laughing in amazement.
Oh and by the way, when he has the performance down, can you put it on youtube and send me the link? its not everyday that you find good dancers and I'd love to see your friend dance (don't worry I'm a dancer, not a stalker) :)

Judging on your description of your friend I don't think he will be laughed at as he previously got standing ovations from the audience. Also Michael Jackson was best known for his moves as well as dancing so him dancing like him won't get him laughed at but be applauded at.
Also just say that those people who do laugh will probably be jealous of him.

So don't worry about him being laughed at as it won't happen and well done for him for being chosen for dancing at Children in Need.

Hope I helpd :)
