Will my iHome play the music off my ITouch with the alarm?

This year, I got an iPod Touch 5th generation. I got my iHome iH4 when I used to have my iPod Touch 2nd generation. My new iPod has a different USB charge/computer cord hole than my old iPod had. Because of this, I cannot plug my iPod directly into my iHome, I have to use an AUX cable (is that what it's called?) to plug my iPod into my iHome through the headphone jack on my iPod.

If I externally plug my iPod into my iHome and then set a song and my iHome alarm, will my chosen song play when my alarm goes off?
 
Yes, any audio coming from your phone should come through the Ihome, since you are using an AUX cable. I know this isn't a very detailed answer, but that's because it's a simple question to answer. Thank you for the details! ^.^
