Will my torrent speed up again after it has slowed down/stopped?

I am downloading a large file using uTorrent and it has slowed down to being practically stopped (around 0.1 or 0.2 kb/s.) before it was going at about 240 kb/s and I understand it slowed down due to lack of seeder but I left it for about 8 hours and it hasn't sped up again, is it going to speed up again when more seeders start again or should I start it again? Sorry I'm new to torrents.
