Will Ned Colletti pull off a Manny type trade for the Dodgers?

I'm not looking forward to the trade deadline, especially with the McCourt divorce looming over Chavez ravine. I have a feeling if the Dodgers could pull something out of the air in the way of a quality trade I think Colletti would be the guy to make it happen and for .............free.
 
I do not think he should. I think the Dodger's season is a wash. Torre will be gone at seasons end, Manny's contract is done(I think), Either is underperforming and Broxton has become hittable.

I say let Torre and Manny go. Go for Valentine or another big name coach as coach. Shoot for Berkeman and another bat. Berk's is still good, but having an off year and has no protection. Josh Hamilton is also a free agent and the Rangers are financial issues too. I would even keep my eye on Pryor. Maybe he can come back and be a middle reliever and spot starter.
 
Doubtful.....While there are teams who might be willing to eat a guy's full salary in order to move him, none of them have the kind of upside Manny had in 2008. The Yankees Javier Vazquez is a good example.

The team has already shown that it won't take on a lot of salary, so that leaves out guys who will be looking for contract extensions along with a trade. That probably eliminates them from the race for guys like Jayson Werth and Ted Lilly.

I'm guessing they continue to look for "second tier" bullpen and OF help. Now that David DeJesus is hurt, I'd say they'd turn to somebody like Scott Podsednik as the Royals aren't going to ask for a Kemp or Loney in return for him.
