im restoring my system due to a compatibility issue and i have a year left on my norton internet security subscription. ive payed for it and used the product code already. when i restore my system will the allocated time still be there? or if not will i be able to just put my product code back in and receive the remainder of the time.

thanks. x

p.s. im restoring from a separate recovery hard drive built into my hp pavilion; just in case you need to know.
yeah its the recovery partition thanks for the warning :)
thanks everyone for the info aswell :).

Be careful, Norton has an auto-protect feature that is by default turned ON. It prevents System Restores from working. You have to turn it OFF to do a System Restore. When I did that, other complications arose which required me to reinstall Norton.

I got so miffed about it that I booted Norton and downloaded Avast.

I think what you are describing on your HP is the Recovery partition (not a second hard drive), and what you are doing is restoring to factory settings. You may not run into the same problem, but if you do, i wanted to point you in the right direction.

The time should be renewed to you. When you register your product, they save what date/time you registered and the year starts from then.
