Will running near street tar damage my lungs?
I am 16 years old and an avid corss country/track runner.I ran around a park near my house for about 3 miles and on the street next to it, they were re-surfacing the street using tar. I didn't think much of it at the time, and i kept running. Then when i got home and stopped running, after about 30 minutes it got somewhat hard to breathe. I then immediately thought back to the tar.
Could it have damaged my lungs? If the tar did damage my lungs, will they ever recover and how long will it take?
PS: This is the second time this has happened. Does this mean that my lungs wont be able to fully heal themselves as easily?
