I COULD LIVE (AND WILL ) WITHOUT A TV.I USE THE INTERNET TO SEE EVERYTHING AND MORE THAN TV HAS TO OFFER. i'LL BET YOU WATCH LESS TV NOW THAN EVER TOO ?
TV became useless all on its own. Poor programming...executive interference...pandering to what they believe is the lowest common denominator....inconsistent scheduling...poor advertising for programming that would have show promise...the list goes on. They shot themselves in the foot. problem is...those bright boys will all relocate to the web...where they will try to bring us the same tired programming.... using exactly the same practices that brought the boob tube to its knees in the first place.
Can't remember the last time I turned on the tube and watched a night's programming. And I canceled my cable subscription years ago. Besides...my PC runs both my tv and my flat screen monitor.
That's definitely not true for me and everyone I know. The Internet is extremely limited when it comes to watching movies and other things legally or for free. I watch many more movies on TV than I ever will on the Net. A computer screen is no replacement for a television!
I have DVDs, but I have watched only a few on my PC. I'd love to have a DVD hooked up to my television, in addition to my VCR.
I doubt that I'll ever rely on the Net for movie entertainment.
buffering, unable to connect, connection to server reset, etc.
The Internet is great sometimes and sucks sometimes... depends upon how much traffic is choking the backbone providers. And why watch on a 19" monitor when I can watch on a 37" TV screen?
