Ok so i found this remote and key the other day laying in the street. I went around the neighborhood pressing the panic button to see if i can find the car that it goes to but i did not find it. So i am wondering since my 1998 GMC Yukon has a very similar looking remote (except does not have a panic button) that maybe this one i found will work if i program it to the truck. I read online how to program the remote for my vehicle i am just wondering if this one will work since i looked it up and it said it was for some GM cars like a 2000 Malibu, 1999 Buick Lesabre, 1998 Oldsmobile 88, etc. I mean its a free remote and if it will work with my truck then that would be great to have another remote just in case. The numbers on the remote i found are:
GM/UTA 25678792
FCC ID: KOBUT1BT
CANADA: 1983 101 393
If anyone knows if this might work then post an answer to this question please! The remote looks almost the same as the original one that came with the truck except the one that came with the truck does not have a panic button but the one i found does. So yeah i am thinking it might work because it seems to me that most of the GM remotes are the same and should work, i just don't want to damage anything by programming a remote that's not the exact one for the truck. Does anyone think i should just try to program it to see what happens?
