Will Verizon charge me out the ass for using mobile IM?

I have unlimited texts so I know it wont charge me for the messages I send but it says "sign-in and IM contact list update commands sent from this application will use airtime that will be billed per your calling plan." What does that mean? Will it charge me like I'm talking on the phone the whole time I'm signed on? I'm nervous about using this crap because Verizon is a bunch of sneaky jerks.
What does the airtime thing mean?
 
No they wont. They will just charge each message as a text, but since you have unlimited texting don't worry about a charge. :)
