will we eventually run out of music?

This is an idea I just thought about. Do you think that in millions of years time (if we last that long) we will run out of new music? New songs and pieces of music are being created all the time, and even though there is a huge combination of notes and sounds to create a unique composition, I was wondering if we would ever run out (assuming we last millions or billion more years)?

music and - society - and life - etc

it depends what you class as music, because - what is music really?

its just noise - there is a lot of music that is just simply noise -

so - it depends if we carry on finding ways to make noise/use noises

and also - to be honest - even in our time - most music has probably already been created - if you think of the millions and millions of amateur musicians about, and all the professional ones etc

most fusions of notes and sounds and ways instruments go together, have probably already been created

but if you mean it in the sense that - "will there eventually be no completely new/original pieces of music/songs" - then - it won't really matter - even if there isn't - because -

music - in popular culture anyway - throughout time, music/songs are just pretty much repeats of other songs but made in a slightly different way -

so to the masses - it will probably seem like there is always constantly new music coming out - because - people forget about old tunes/songs etc - and then a new musician creates a song which sounds like one that was created years ago - but most people just think - oh thats a new and original song done in that particular musicians style

so people will always probably listen to the next thing that comes out as long as the musicians make it something which seems original and unique, and something that can be obviously related to that particular musician

however - i think that music could eventually die out all together - if people find other ways of making themselves happy -

and - to be honest - you can see glimpses of that even these days -

e.g it seems that people are/are becoming a lot more interested in socialising/living there lives/focusing on THEIR lives - rather than other peoples lives (e.g musicians, celebrities etc etc etc)

i think - music has always been a way for some people to express their emotions/the way they feel about themselves and life in general -

what i mean by this is - people in life always try to find a purpose, a purpose of being in this world, it seems - and want to choose certain things which they like - and apply them to their own lives - to say - this is what i like - therefore this is the person i am (music, films, books, hobbies, whatever etc etc etc)

however - more recently, many many many more people have been taking more control of/focusing on their OWN lives - i.e rather than focusing on other THINGS which interest them (music, films, book etc etc etc) -

for example - the endless amounts of pictures/photographs people take of themselves in certain places/situations -

and the endless amounts of videos people make of themselves these days also - and then put them on youtube - where they have their own youtube channel - with pretty much videos of their entire life on it - and carry on creating more and more videos -

so - instead of focusing on and making a big deal about the things (media - film, tv, music, arts, literature etc etc etc the list goes on) which people have generally been interested in in the past and up to now - instead of focusing on that - people seem to be focusing on how they can make THEIR OWN lives like that (like what they see in films/read in books etc - so basically - you know - the whole "living the dream"/"living in a fantasy world" - type thing -

and most people ARE doing this nowadays - they have pretty much their whole lives explained like one massive story/film - through the use of photos and videos

it seems the most importnant thing in life to most people these days is to CAPTURE life/time as it passes by -

and the way to do this - is by taking photographs - of life- and videos - of life - that way - it seems to people - that life has some sort of meaning - that -

in a way - there life is a lot more like a story - a story which has been stored on a some hard drive - that can be kept/stored forever - throughout the timeline of mankind/the earth/the universe etc (if technology persists the way it does) - kept for future humans/children/grand children and so on and so on - so that - peoples/our lives here on earth - have not just simply been wasted - living a life - and then just dying - but instead, our lives have been captured (in photos/videos etc) - or SAVED/stored you could say

and thats pretty much why throughout time/in the past and up to now - people have created things like music, or books, or art - etc -

because - it is their way of CAPTURING their own THOUGHTS and IDEAS and IMAGINATIONS from their own minds - e.g a musician RECORDS (stores) a piece of music - because he wants to have his/her thoughts/creations - stored somewhere - so people and him/her self don't forget what the musican created - which came from their mind -

it is a way of STORING life - in a sense - because - the musician is CAPTURING/STORING/RECORDING something which they created - which came from their mind ultimately - and therefore capturing their creation - to an extent - is like capturing/storing/recording part of their life

but - like i said - people these days - even musicians etc - are gradually realising that - the easiest way to capture/store/record life - is through photographs and videos -

that is why - facebook and youtube are two of the most enourmous social networking sites on the internet - and two of the most amazing/overwhelming etc things to happen to mankind -

because - the popularity of these sites/social networks - makes people look at each others lives (and photos, and videos) - and makes them realise - that - oh, hand on a minute - that person/those people - have got loads of photos/videos of them doing the things which they love doing in life - they are capturing there lives - why don't i do that -

and therefore - more and more people go onto the sites etc and more and more people see other peoples profiles/photos/videos/LIVES - etc - and the cycle goes on -

and because the whole photos and videos thing has been showcased/layed out to people/the masses in such a ROBUST/extreme/powerful/massive way, and to so many people - people will carry on doing this - because they have come to realise - that more than most things - capturing their own lives - is what makes them happy to a massive extent

ossibly because - they didnt know/don't know how else to express themselves and what they are thinking/feeling - or just simply can't, for whatever reason (
