Windows vista gadget bar.. cant add gadgets?!?

Hi there, im using windows vista and i have recently tried to add some new gadgets to the gadget bar. however after looking through the available options and then clicking 'Add', i am shown a message saying 'Failed to register gadget, please check the manifest file'.

your suggestions on solving this problem would be much appreciated
