With US cellular.. Do I need to pay for internet service if I buy a black berry?

I have US cellular... and when I went to get a new phone and contact I wanted to get a black berry but they said I need to pay extra monthly because I have to have internet if I want this phone... So I got a different phone.... now my friend might be willing to sell me her black berry... but will I still need to get internet with it even though I didn't buy the phone from US cellular?
 
I believe so... not fun i know. Best to check with us cellular before you do it and begin seeing unwanted charges
 
Yes, if you don't want to incur pay per kilobyte fees which is super expensive. It is only a good idea not to add a data plan if you would randomly use the internet on the phone.
