Without Devil, why people need God?

once you believe that God does exist, you should believe that Devil also exist....

once you believe that God is powerful, you should also believe that Devil also powerful....

my questions:
1. What is Devil?
2. Is the Devil equally as powerful as God?


Religious people, give me your answer.

Atheist, you can make a joke if you want :)

Devil is god's BFF,seeing how he hasn't been blown up for all the "crimes" he has done.
 
In ISLAM:
1.The Devil is a Jinn with free will. It used to be loyal to God, but got stubborn, & turned bad.

2. The Devil has no powers of its own. All power lies with God.
