So today a couple of friends and I were hiking on what considered private property but everyone hikes on it because of the old railroad tracks and a old tunnel that is apparently haunted. Well, we decided to stay until sunset just so we can say we had been there at night (it's a big deal in our hometown, scary!) But right as we were leaving these two bigger men (Who were the only ones we had seen the entire time) stopped to talk to us. They had obviously been drinking and we eventually went our separate ways. To my surprise I see that they've started following us and I freak out. Nothing happened, but it got me thinking how I would defend myself in a time like that. I have been wanting to go hiking alone but with creepers like that it's a little scary. I have a little tiny thing of mace but idk how much good that would do me against two men. I have thought before about getting my concealed carry or something. What do you guys recommend? Women: how do you stay safe in the woods?

Also, I have taken self defense classes I just don't feel like I am strong enough to actually defend myself. Especially against 2 men.
Do you guys even read what I write? #1 I DID bring pepper spray. #2. I DID hike with friends. #3 This is only saying that I am wanting to hike alone. I shouldn't HAVE to bring a guy with me to go hiking, do you realize how screwed up that is? I agree with one of the other comments. Maybe I should get a gun.

And before you get on your high horse and say that there is "No such thing as a haunted tunnel" maybe you should do your research. Google Moonville Tunnel.
