...Mohammad, etc? Some thoughts ever wonder why, even atheists, swear using God or Jesus, but they don't say Budda, Mohammad, or even satan? Ya know like saying "budda d*mmit"
Why is that?, doesn't that have something to say about acknowledging God and who the real creator is.

I dont think so actually. I think it's cause those english speakers have grown up in a judeo-christian influenced society. Also i dont think Mohammad is a god in islam, just a prophet

Because christains think Jesus is god (may god forgive us) but Muhammad (saw) is a prophet
And so is Jesus but they don't know that
And when you say god d*mmit that's just disrespect to the all mighty, the one and only Allah (God) and us muslims would just say in some situation
Oh lord or I seek forgiveness from Allah or etc.

good point.
Oh my Mohammedd! What the Buddha?

agree with Fireball Jesus is the true God! =)

Because everyone else does it so it sticks and we just keep rinsing and repeating?

If you really want me to.."Oh my Buddha!" Sounds dirty..

Because my mother said GDammit! and my father said JC!

I didn't know about the Buddha until I was in college.

So it's about culture and experience. Would be somewhat of a miracle if I had said BDammit when I was a kid. But then, guess then we would know which religion is the correct one.

Its just a figure of speech that came from english speaking culture and it has roots deep in the past so its lost any original meaning. You do realize that every day of the week and month of the year is named after pagan gods right? I guess not

I'm an Atheist.

I think it's just a tip-of-the-tongue thing.
'God' is an easy one-syllable word to quickly say when you're unsettled.

I think it's also because most English speaking people are more familiar with the terms 'God' or 'Jesus' because we hear them more often.

Just my opinion.
