What is the big deal about WOW and it's 'addiction'? It's only a ******* game, just stop playing it.

I managed to play WoW for 3.5 years without being addicted. Helps to actually have some degree of self control.

I read an article a few months ago off of N4G that said Swedish [or possibly Dutch, I can't remember] researchers found out that people who are truly addicted to WoW have a greater degree of 'addictivity' than people who are addicted to cocaine....

My interpretation is that WoW addicts wreck their lives more than cocaine addicts....Who wants some powder then? :top:

Actually the game itself marked a real progression in the MMORPG genre, Blizzard effectively took a concept that wasn't working that well in the gaming industry and made it fantastic, so you can't really fault them for that... HOWEVER...

Since then Blizzard have become lazy little so and so's and insist on re-releasing all their old titles with the next number in the numerical sequence slapped on it and the only thing they've changed is to up the graphics, e.g. Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 - and I can just envision World of Starcraft even now.

Try moar Blizzard.

People just need to remember its a game, and set out with the mentality "I will never turn people down in order to play WoW".

Its when people online start to say "mate wtf we need you tonight or we cant do it at all" where the weak minded fall and make excuses and play.

Its generally not "I cant go out to play this game"... its more like "I cant let my freinds down" (remember these are people you'd speak to day in day out etc using mics etc)

This post being aimed towards those who ignorantly say "Its only a ******* game" etc!
