I'm a l33t wow player oc and I play 23h a day and sleep for 1 hour oc and I don't work and live in my mommies basement. True story, it's awesomeness.

Me too. It is a pile of w**k! As far as online games go, Final Fantasy XI has a much better storyline, although I don't play that either because I am not sad.

Yep it was a nightelf, which could explain why it sucks so much.

If i was made to play properly i have to say that undead seems the only decent option. Its the only race that looks decent for a start.

I spent much of the interval between Y10 and Y13 'grinding' on Diablo 2 - not for levels as such, but rather for equipment, since the in-game economy is more or less predicated on 'trickle-down' theory and genuine philanthropists are few and far between. That being said, I was never truly 'addicted' - after my account had been hacked, I simply shrugged my shoulders and migrated to pastures new - but I've nevertheless become disillusioned to the extent that any evidence of 'grinding' in its traditional mode (tedious, repetitious, menial striving towards an infinitely deferred reward) is enough to preclude enjoyment.

For the people that do not understand how you can be addicted to WoW and not games like CS/COD/Fifa 09. Its because WoW Isnt a game where you just tap random buttons quicker and faster to win or hold down the mouse button to spray your opponent with lead.

WoW is a game that uses your mind, essentially. You will fight against other humans, using your knowledge and quick reactions to determine what abilities you have to counter the abilities your oponent is using. Thats why warcraft does filter out alot of idiots that can be found on Fifa/MOH/COD etc. On warcraft you dont get 'OMFG! I FUKKING KILLED YOU NOOOOB! LOL!) well, unless your on a swedish server; you might find that.

I played WoW starting 2006, for about a year a good few hours a week. At one point I did raid (MC/BWL/ZG etc) and was a Guild Officer and Warrior Class Leader. This guild was a semi-casual raiding guild. We put down bosses, but not every night. I was addicted for say a year? But it died down, and now; 2009. I still go back every now and then for a little pop. And I believe it is the only game I will ever continue to play. It has everything. Intelligence, skill, exporation and excitement.

The reason people do not get addicted to games like fifa/CS or COD is because it is not as interactive as WoW. Your not dependent on other people to better your character. And in those previously mentioned games, you quit the game, save and your ready for the next go. Warcraft is ever changing, the best way to describe it is at its own fantasy little world. You wont know unless you have played it and have say got past level 20-30 to actually witness the game.

Edit - FOR THE HORDE!

For once, I agree with you. Repetitive grinding pretty much kills these sort of games for me.

Yea. To be honest I don't really think there ever is a time in your life when it isn't a bad idea to play WOW all day. Maybe when you're retired?

this thread made me finally remember to watch the WoW south park episode

and i lol'd hard

I used to be seriously addicted to it, thank God I'm free now. I deleted my account and threw away the CDs just to make sure that I wouldn't go back to it.

Im just waiting for game adverts to have www.gameresponsibly.co.uk" at the bottom, or start putting government health warnings on the box's :(

LOL! That happened to my ex, but on Second Life rather than World of Warcraft. He became addicted to playing this Thrist:Bloodlines game thing on there and was literally on it 24/7. We did not last long after that lol.
