The popular mechanics explanation for WTC 7 is that 1 of the 3 main trusses gave way........and the other 2 trusses followed 8 seconds later because they were unable to handle the redistributed weight.....
I don't buy that. It was damaged from debris on its side........it was a football field away from the North Tower, it did not take a direct hit from the North Tower............yet miraculously, it became the 1s building in history to collapse symmetrically at free-fall speed into its own footprint.
You have many buildings that took DIRECT HITS from the debris and remained standing..............(like buildings WTC 3, 4, 5, and 6)
but WTC 7 was a good football field away from the North Tower..........it was hit on its side, and goes down symmetrically, smoothly, completely, into its own footprint.......that's uncanny.
Buildings don't fall into their own footprint at the rate of gravity and pulverize in mid-air...........
